Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the compliance team effectively by working closely with colleagues in all teams, facilitating engagement with health and safety activities across the organisation.
  • Use various channels such as briefings, presentations, training, and collaborative workshop sessions to ensure everyone understands their responsibilities.
  • Coordinate Occupational Health assessments for staff and ensure all aspects of the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), Building Safety Act, and other Health and Safety legislation are met within legal, financial, time, and policy constraints.
  • Assess new and changing Regulations, Legislation, and Approved Codes of Practice, understanding the risk posed by changes and communicate these clearly to senior managers.
  • Take charge of the internal audit process through the organisation of a program of audits, investigations, reviews, and monitoring against health and safety standards in both a planned and reactive manner.

About the Role

  • Excellent communication is key to this role, as well as technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Work with a wide range of people and present information in a concise and accessible way.
  • Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH equivalent (or willing to gain required qualification levels within the first 6-months).
  • Relevant technical professional qualification (e.g. full membership to the IFE/IFSM/CABE/RICS/CIOB and NEBOSH fire safety certificate FC1/FC2 or equivalent).
  • Experience in occupational Health and Safety of corporate office-based staff and operational labour workforce is preferable.
  • Good attention to detail and a track record of ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with industry best practices.
