Conservation Opportunity at Tate

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Conservator to join our sculpture and installation art conservation team at Tate.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering the condition assessment, treatment, and documentation requirements for loan programmes across Tate in the UK and worldwide.

The role involves working with a diverse range of materials, from metal to plastics to flora and fauna, and supporting the loans team in preparing artworks for loan.

To succeed in this position, you will need to have a broad range of experience with materials and excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to organize your time effectively and work enthusiastically in a team environment.

This is a fixed-term contract opportunity until 31 March 2027.

Location: Tate Britain, London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver condition assessment, treatment, and documentation requirements for loan programmes
  • Work with a diverse range of materials, including metal, plastics, flora, and fauna
  • Support the loans team in preparing artworks for loan
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
