Job Title: Identification Officer

Job Summary:
Adecco is pleased to be recruiting for an Identification Officer to join Thames Valley Police. This role involves working 37 hours, Monday to Sunday, on a shift pattern between 8am and 8pm. The position will be based on site in Abingdon, but you will need a full UK driver's license and be able to travel to different locations across the force area.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out administration and identification procedures in accordance with current legislation and force policy. Ensure timely liaison with the OIC and CPS, and cater for the needs of victims, witnesses, and the investigation. Ensure compliance with PACE, case law, and local procedures and policies. Be responsible for the legal and financial consequences of making a decision, in consultation with the OIC/ID Manager and in accordance with PACE. Respond to legal challenges surrounding identification issues and justify procedures undertaken in accordance with the law. Knowledge of VIPER procedures for capturing suspects and showing parades to witnesses, including laptop facilities. Knowledge of databases used to record procedures, including WORD, Excel, Access, LAN, Outlook, Niche, and other databases used to check, review, and update results.
