Job Title: Clinical Fellow

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Fellow to join our team at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the Department of Clinical Radiology.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide a high-quality musculoskeletal radiology service, working closely with consultant radiologists in this specialty. They will develop a specialist interest in aspects of musculoskeletal radiology and participate in the Radiology SpR teaching programme and departmental clinical research and audit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a high-quality musculoskeletal radiology service
  • Develop a specialist interest in aspects of musculoskeletal radiology
  • Participate in the Radiology SpR teaching programme
  • Contribute to departmental clinical research and audit
  • Undertake an evening general acute CT list (5-9pm) (alternate weeks)
  • Assist in the training of junior medical staff (radiological and other clinicians)
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • FRCR (Parts 1 and 2) or equivalent evidence of radiology training with at least 4.5 years in a UK recognised Radiology Training Scheme
  • Candidate should have or be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT in Clinical Radiology
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
  • Demonstrable skills in written & spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients & colleagues
Desirable Qualifications
  • MRCP, MRCS, or other postgraduate degree
Eligibility, Fitness to Practice, and Language Skills
  • Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at intended start date
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
  • Is up to date and fit to practise safely and is aware of own training needs
  • Demonstrable skills in written & spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients & colleagues
Clinical, Academic, and Personal Skills
  • Ability to apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement to problems
  • Recognition of, and ability to undertake the initial management of, an acutely ill patient
  • Evidence of thoroughness and ability to work in multi-professional teams
Experience
  • Experience in General and Musculoskeletal Radiology with a demonstrable interest in MSK radiology
  • Documented competence in delivering and reporting a general acute CT service out-of-hours
