Radiology Department Head

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Department Head to lead our team of radiographers, sonographers, and clinical technologists. The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional leadership and management of the radiography workforce, ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services to our patients.
About the RoleThe Radiology Department Head will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction to the radiography team
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality imaging services
- Managing the radiography workforce, including recruitment, training, and development
- Ensuring compliance with clinical governance and quality standards
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
Leeds Teaching Hospitals is a leading teaching hospital in Europe, providing specialist treatment and bio-medical research facilities. Our Radiology Clinical Service Unit delivers a diagnostic and treatment imaging service to over 600,000 patients per year.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
- Significant experience of middle/senior management level in a complex organisation
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
- Knowledge and experience of clinical governance and quality standards
