Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Immunology team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care to children and young people with Primary Immune Deficiencies (PIDs).

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of immunology and a strong understanding of the needs of children and young people with PIDs. You will be able to work autonomously and as part of a multi-professional team to provide high-quality care and support to our patients and their families.

Main Duties of the Job

The main duties of the job include leading the long-term follow-up/transition pathways for children and young people accessing Immunology care. You will be responsible for health assessments, initiation of treatment, and monitoring for late effects post-curable intervention. You will also be involved in the development and implementation of clinical pathways and protocols to ensure high-quality care and patient safety.

As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to provide leadership and guidance to junior staff and contribute to the development of the team's strategic vision. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.

Person Specification

The person specification outlines the qualifications, skills, and experience required for the role. The essential criteria include a Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice, registration with a core professional group, and experience of working as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in a relevant setting. The desirable criteria include a teaching qualification, experience of clinical leadership, and a strong understanding of change management and quality improvement methodologies.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-professional team. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate a personal philosophy of Advanced Clinical Practice and the role of the ACP in the future of the NHS.

They will have a strong understanding of diversity and inclusion, with the ability to contribute to the development of our inclusion strategy. They will also have a flexible approach to work and be able to deal with conflict situations within a team, as well as events involving the team.
