Job Summary

Role Purpose:

To provide expert clinical leadership and guidance within the Allergy and Clinical Immunology specialty at King's College Hospital. This role involves providing clinical expertise, supporting patients, their families, and staff members by offering information, guidance, and professional development opportunities.

Main Duties of the Job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Expertise: Offer specialised knowledge and support to patients and their families in the field of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

  • Education and Training: Deliver educational sessions at the Kings Academy, national and international courses, and provide informal on-the-job training.
  • Staff Management: Provide direct line management to Allergy and Clinical Immunology nurses.
  • Research Participation: Contribute to research projects within the care group and specialty.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality specialised care: Ensure the delivery of exceptional nursing care in Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

  • Policy development and review: Contribute to the creation, revision, and implementation of relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Team collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Education and Training: Provide mentorship and training to junior staff and participate in educational programs.
  • Patient support: Offer information, support, and continuity of care to patients and their families.
  • Resource management: Identify and utilise appropriate resources both locally and internationally.
  • Medication administration: Administer medications according to prescribed guidelines.
  • Service excellence: Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, research-based nursing service.
  • Policy adherence: Develop, update, and monitor relevant trust policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication: Maintain open communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
