We are seeking a creative, innovative, and experienced Qualified Teacher to support deaf children and their families during their early years and in special schools.

As a Teacher of the Deaf, you will:

  • Collaborate with special school teachers, early years settings, and parents/carers to develop and manage approaches and provision for deaf children with additional needs.
  • Optimize outcomes for deaf children with complex needs by utilizing a thorough understanding of the special school curriculum. This includes planning, assessment, teaching, training, and support for staff.
  • Provide families with balanced, unbiased support and advice to enable them to make informed choices for their deaf children.
  • Work in partnership with other agencies involved in services to deaf children.

Applications are welcome from experienced and qualified Teachers of the Deaf. We would also consider outstanding qualified teachers with substantial experience teaching children with severe and profound additional complex needs who are looking to develop their career in working with deaf children.

The service is willing to support the successful candidate to undertake training to achieve the mandatory qualification.
