Band 7 Clinical Skills Lead *Secondment Cover* 37.5 hour post

Shape the future of nursing across North Cumbria with this exciting opportunity to lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning resources and training programmes/events for the back of house areas within the care group.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide education, training, support, and development to staff in line with the agreed training and education priorities set at Care Group and ward/dept.
  • Develop a sustainable workforce by leading the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning resources and training programmes/events.
  • Emphasize the development and promotion of clinical skills training, preceptorship, and apprenticeships to ensure staff can deliver outstanding care to patients and maintain safe working practices.

Person Specification
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area e.g. Education, Healthcare or Social Science
  • Recognised training or teaching qualification or equivalent experience
  • Current Health or Social Care Professional Qualification and registration on the appropriate clinical register
  • Masters level study in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Coaching or mentoring qualification
Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience of working within a clinical environment across a range of different settings
  • Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating learning programmes for diverse staff groups
  • Evidence of developing training packages (online and/or face to face)
  • Experience of supporting learners and providing guidance to staff and managers regarding learning
  • Knowledge of professional requirements related to supporting learners in practice e.g. from NMC and HCPC or other professional bodies
  • Knowledge of career pathways and practice development initiatives relevant to the health & social care sector

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as a team member without supervision
  • Be aware and act in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct
  • Evidence of up-to-date clinical skills and ability to demonstrate ongoing professional development
  • Ability to plan and work to tight deadlines
Requirements
  • Flexible approach to working patterns and adaptable to the needs of the service
  • Ability to travel independently across WNE Cumbria as required
  • Access to use of a car with business insurance is essential as travelling and transporting equipment between training venues and sites will be required
  • Ability to work flexibly and cross site where necessary
