About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Lead to join our growing Communications team at AWE Nuclear Security Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping us tell the story of our unique mission to keep the country safe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging and timely content using a wide range of techniques and channels
  • Work with stakeholders to draft relevant messages to achieve communications, project, and campaign objectives
  • Enhance draft written or visual materials by ensuring content is targeted and dynamic
  • Create new copy, imagery, audio, and video materials to support the narrative/storytelling
  • Articulate difficult messages in a simple manner
  • Proactively seek out stories and case studies to support the narrative/storytelling and achieve the communications objectives
  • Apply project management skills to support the successful delivery of campaigns, projects, and communications activities
Requirements
  • Copywriting experience with a focus on engaging storytelling
  • Digital and social media skills and experience
  • A strong communications background, potentially with some experience working with press and media
  • A 'can-do' approach
  • Well-organized with excellent time management skills
  • Working in a dynamic environment on multiple projects
  • Managing communications or social media crisis
  • Producing copy for social media and asset creation
