About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our team at Evelina London Children's Hospital, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering, developing, and evaluating clinical pharmacy services to paediatric services, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs in our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services for patients admitted to Children's Services, ensuring safe and effective use of drugs.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services for patients admitted to Children's Services, working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating expertise and providing training and education to ward pharmacists.
- Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services to advance the safe and effective use of drugs in our patients.
- Participate in research and development, identifying opportunities to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Collaborate with other clinical pharmacists to ensure efficient transfer of drug-related care.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Clinical experience in paediatric medicine and surgery.
- Previous experience in delivering training and education.
- Experience of multidisciplinary health services working.
- Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Clinical experience in obstetrics and neonatology.
- Previous experience in delivering training and education at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- Demonstration of active participation in multi-disciplinary health care research.
- Registered Independent Prescriber.
- Previous experience of using electronic prescribing software.
