Job Summary

This Administrative Support Specialist role requires a highly organized and motivated individual to provide administrative support and contribute to the smooth running of our practice. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Main Duties
  1. Maintain administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure
  2. Provide cover for members of the reception team during periods of sickness and annual leave
  3. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with callers' requests appropriately
  4. Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies
  5. Process prescription requests in line with Practice policies
  6. Manage the GP2GP worklists
  7. Complete administrative actions on docman system task list
  8. Deal with emails received into the Practice inbox(s)
  9. Register new patients
  10. Ensure patient information is recorded/retrieved on the computer system accurately and promptly
Person Specification
  • GCSE qualifications or equivalent, preferably in English and Mathematics, Good IT skills
  • Administration and/or customer service experience
  • Experience working within a GP Practice
