About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the scientific and technical laboratory operations at the Earlham Institute. This includes assisting in the provision of laboratory services, ensuring the safe and efficient use of laboratory equipment, and developing management and communication skills through the delivery of laboratory tasks and small projects.

We are looking for a highly skilled Laboratory Technician who has three A-levels (or equivalent) including a science-based subject or previous experience working in a laboratory. They should also possess sound IT skills, good communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail to promote safe working and good laboratory practice.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in providing laboratory services, including sample preparation, testing, and data analysis
• Ensure the safe and efficient use of laboratory equipment
• Develop management and communication skills through the delivery of laboratory tasks and small projects
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives

Requirements:
• Three A-levels (or equivalent) including a science-based subject or previous experience working in a laboratory
• Sound IT skills, good communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge

Salary and Benefits:
• Salary: £22,011-£24,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience (a higher salary may be considered for exceptional candidates)
• Full-time contract of 5 years
