We are looking for a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Automated Clinical Biochemistry department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. About the Department

The Automated Clinical Biochemistry department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital provides a wide range of tests for both in-patient and out-patient, all of Norfolk's GP's and other neighbouring Trusts. The department has recently updated the analysers with Abbott Alinity with 3600 Accelerator 3600 as the track system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate complex clinical scientific service-related test information to managers, consultants, nurses, other healthcare colleagues, patients, and patient carers
  • Interpret results and reassure users that the information is correct when results do not agree with clinical presentation and investigate and problem-solve situations in their specialist field
  • Maintain very complex specialist analytical equipment on a daily basis and sign off as fit for clinical use
Person Specification
  • BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent
  • State registration with Health Professions Council (HPC)
  • Experience of working in a diverse, high-pressure, high-throughput service
  • In-depth knowledge of assays performed within their service
  • Able to effectively work within a complex multi-disciplinary team
