Amentum is a leading global technical and engineering services partner.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Lead to join our team on a major project.

As Senior Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the management, leadership, and coordination of single-discipline engineering activities for an assigned project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation, including CDM, Principal Designer requirements, and Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Review and manage control of design on a project, including production of Design Control Plans and design review management.
  • Produce appropriate engineering deliverables, including Bases of design, analysis, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Manage and coordinate technical risk management activities, including risk management strategy and planning, risk identification, and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate the management of requirements, including understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements identification.
  • Manage and coordinate the development of engineering delivery baselines, including scope definition and project execution plan.
  • Coordinate oversight of project delivery and project reporting, including progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Engage with and oversee delivery partners and supply chain organisations, including specification of engineering and technical requirements.
  • Understand and work within the project delivery lifecycle and nuclear industry standard gated delivery processes.

Nuclear Specific Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Experience and knowledge of the UK nuclear site licence conditions and specifically those related to engineering.
  • Knowledge of configuration controlled nuclear baseline throughout the project facility lifecycle.
  • Experience of nuclear site licence company procedures.
  • Knowledge of generic nuclear new-build safety case and design change control.
  • Solid and proven knowledge of UK nuclear facility operational safety case and design change control.
  • Knowledge of design substantiation process and interactions with the nuclear safety case.
  • Experience of quality control and the relationship between nuclear safety and the project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of the UK nuclear and environmental regulators and their interactions with UK nuclear site licence companies.

Position Requirements:

  • Ideally a Bachelor's degree in engineering or science subject or demonstrated equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Possess or working towards Professional membership of a relevant chartered body.
  • Proven experience working in a complex/major project engineering delivery environment, including management of engineering supply chain organisations.
