Lead Engineer (Requirements Configuration)

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer (Requirements Configuration) to join our team on a major project located in Warrington.

Purpose and Scope:

As Lead Engineer (Requirements Configuration), you will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks in the initial planning and design phase of projects. Under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager, you will interact with other disciplines, project support groups, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives as appropriate on an assigned project.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering calculations, prepare specifications, perform analyses, perform testing, issue reports, and maintain related data.
  • Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Prepare and review drawings as required.
  • Advise the Lead Project Engineer about the status of assignments with respect to schedule, delays, and adverse problems.
  • Ensure quality, quantity, and completeness of assigned engineering tasks.
  • Plan and schedule engineering efforts associated with assigned projects.
  • Maintain timely and accurate oral and written technical reports regarding assigned engineering activities.
  • Keep proper engineering files and records.
  • Understand and use computer software and applications associated with engineering assignments.
  • Continually upgrade technical knowledge and capabilities and pursue additional training.
  • Express ideas clearly and listen effectively to the ideas of others.
  • Familiar with codes, permits, and company cornerstone applications.
  • Familiar with the work sequence, general content, and methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within the engineer's discipline.
  • Can read and understand construction drawings.
  • Can fully integrate constructability concerns into engineering solutions.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Experience:
  • Ideal degree qualification or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience in highly regulated industries.
  • Proven experience in delivering projects of over £1 million.
  • Proven excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing work environment, with previous experience of managing high-value projects.
  • Proven knowledge of nuclear site decommissioning and waste management.

You will be eligible for UK SC security clearance.
