Fixed Term Vacancy for Health Economist

We are seeking a highly skilled health economist to cover a period of maternity leave at the University of Bristol, contributing to research and teaching.

About the Role

The successful candidate will undertake high-quality research, taking on leadership roles in unit development, conducting teaching, managing junior researchers, supervising doctoral students, and participating in leadership activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-quality research, developing own research ideas, securing funding, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Lead teaching initiatives and teach on the MSc in Health Economics and Health Policy Analysis.
  • Provide project management, supervision, and leadership to junior staff and doctoral researchers.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications, conferences, meetings, and other forms of dissemination to generate impact and engagement.
  • Take on leadership roles as appropriate and provide expert advice on research issues.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge and expertise in health economics research.
  • Experience in teaching and teaching leadership roles.
  • High-quality health economics research experience.
  • Potential to secure research funding and collaborate in multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.

Contract Details:

Fixed Term for 1 year or earlier return of the postholder from maternity leave. Part-time/0.8 FTE.

Annual Salary: £40,392 - £53,712 (dependent on qualifications and experience).
