Job Description:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide crucial support to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEN in both classroom and individual settings
  • Attend to pupils' personal needs, including social health, first aid and welfare matters
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour and support positive outcomes
  • Provide a caring, empathetic, and structured environment for children to grow and learn
  • Assist in tracking progress and adapting learning plans as needed
  • Liaise with parents, guardians, and other staff members to ensure comprehensive support for each student
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • A compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting students with additional needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • An understanding of SEN strategies and the ability to implement these in a classroom setting
  • A genuine commitment to helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of SEN tools and strategies is highly desirable
