About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Operations Manager to join our team at G Touring. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing airline inventory within a portfolio of tours, maximizing margin for the business by applying processes and procedures effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with airlines, as well as supporting internal departments as required.
  • Plan annual workflows, seat management, and cost control of the Aviation component across a portfolio of tours.
  • Ensure the right flight is always displayed internally and externally, contributing to an excellent customer experience.
  • Work within agreed financial limits and tight deadlines to avoid penalties for not releasing unused flight inventory back to airlines.
  • Manage schedule changes and regional flights, seeking the best solution for the customer and the right price for the business.
  • Collaborate with the Holiday Director department to ensure a seat is held for a Holiday Director where required, at the most cost-effective price.
  • Complete flight lists and ticketing on time to ensure no restrictions to the customer documentation process.
  • Ensure all bookings are up-to-date and tickets issued with the correct fare information.
  • Flag and complete any changes to airfare via the cost amend processes.
  • Support Aviation customer-facing Sales, such as Upgrades and On Request bookings, contributing to the team's performance to ensure SLAs are met and profit and conversion are maximized.
  • Be the 'go-to' person for your own geographical area, liaising with suppliers, keeping up-to-date with changes, and actively sharing information with colleagues.
  • Effectively communicate using the Tour Change process to advise customers of specific changes.
  • Seek tax recoveries on flight bookings and assist the finance team with any flight cost discrepancies from inventory management.
  • Work with the Sales Centre to ensure correct customer information is provided for an air ticket ready for travel.
  • Review, update, and complete various tasks from Aviation reports, such as Consolidation Memo, Commitment Chart, Cancellation Report, Flight List, and Ticketing report.
  • Participate on the call rota to support the business outside of office hours.
  • Provide Aviation training and support when needed for Aviation team members, as well as other departments around the business as required.
  • Support Customer Care with Aviation customer feedback to assist in compiling the response.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of airline routes, operating guidelines, and airline-specific contract interpretation.
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively.
  • Experience working within the travel industry.
  • Confidence and capability to navigate numerous systems and embrace learning.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain focus and work within very tight time constraints.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good negotiation skills and a solution-driven approach.
  • Strong quantitative skills for analysis of complicated programs to ensure sufficient flight seat capacity is available.
  • Forward-thinking approach to actively seek process improvements.
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks quickly, embracing change, and enjoying being part of a developing team.
Desirable
  • 1-2 years GDS experience (preferably Amadeus).
  • Understanding of Aviation processes.
