Job Summary

Torus Group is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Resettlement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Domestic Abuse Support Service, you will play a vital role in supporting victims of domestic abuse across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of clients, providing intensive support and guidance to help them achieve independent living.
  • Work closely with clients to identify their needs and develop personalized support plans, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and services to provide comprehensive support, including referrals to specialist partners and advocacy services.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize risk and promote client safety.
  • Support clients with applications for rehousing and provide assistance with accessing essential services, such as welfare benefits and housing options.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing emotional support and guidance throughout their resettlement journey.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes to welfare reform legislation and the range of welfare benefits available to support clients.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure ongoing professional development and best practice.
Requirements
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and children, with a strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and shift cover.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle, with business insurance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
