Eva Team Lead
**About the role**:
The job sits within Harbour Housing, a Homelessness Charity whose primary objective is to relieve the need, hardship, and distress of vulnerable homeless people. This includes women who have experienced domestic abuse and sexual violence and who also face other complex needs, and men and women who display risk-taking behaviours.
EVA stands for: Empowered, Valued, Aware and is a unique and comprehensive service of Safe Accommodation, Specialist Support and Resettlement for women with multiple and complex needs fleeing Domestic Abuse that is commissioned in line with part four of the Domestic Abuse Act.
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, reflective, and experienced manager to lead, energise and strategically develop the EVA Service. This is an exciting opportunity to maximise the service we offer and support the wider organisation to ensure we offer a gender-responsive approach to every woman who accesses Harbour Housing.
The EVA Team lead needs to hold significant understanding and training in domestic abuse and complex and risk-taking behaviours including substance use and be able to demonstrate a minimum of three years’ professional experience in a domestic abuse and / or complex needs accommodation setting.
The safe accommodation and support element of EVA comprises a minimum of 12 beds across two women-only properties and is run on a 24/7 basis with on-call support out of hours. Women can stay for up to 12 months and beyond this, we offer a Resettlement service to support their safe transition to independent living. Underpinning our specialist support is an extensive and person-centred need, risk and support mapping system and an inclusive recovery programme designed by and for women with complex needs to explore recovery from domestic abuse and trauma in a way that is accessible. The role-holder will be expected to keep oversight of these three elements and ensure their delivery and development is consistent with contractual requirements and client needs.
The EVA project aims to remove barriers to safe accommodation often faced by women with complex needs and requires leadership with a high level of self-awareness and the ability to be non-judgemental and diplomatic when facing or supporting staff to face complex and challenging behaviours to fully and dynamically assess risk, utilise safeguarding processes effectively and help mitigate harm from a variety of risks in addition to that posed by domestic abuse.
Compassion and resilience are key attributes as is the practised and demonstrable ability to reflect, learn and develop responsively, utilising a range of resources to help inform our service policies and procedures with the most up-to-date and evidence-based information. The role requires a deep understanding of trauma, and its impacts as well as professional curiosity and willingness to understand and value different perspectives.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with other staff internally as well as with external organisations to maximise the effectiveness of the service and recognise opportunities for further development. They will be responsible for data collection and collating reports, case studies and evaluations for a variety of stakeholders, working with senior managers to ensure high-quality performance and presentation.
The job holder will ensure that they fully understand and fulfil their responsibilities, particularly in relation to child and adult safeguarding, data protection, health and safety and employment law.
This profile is not an exhaustive list of duties and other activities may need to be carried out requiring similar skill levels.
**Job Purpose**
To be responsible for the day-to-day running and delivery of the EVA Service, prioritising the safety and risk-management of women fleeing domestic abuse who are also facing other complex and severe disadvantages.
To provide excellent leadership and line management to the EVA staff team, supporting them to be knowledgeable, confident and resilient practitioners who specialise in supporting women with multiple and complex needs who have experienced domestic abuse and other trauma to be safe and develop the skills needed to live independently.
To ensure the EVA service is developed to comply with contractual and organisational requirements, taking responsibility for reporting on these and representing the service and the voices of its beneficiaries at key operational and contractual meetings.
**Key Accountabilities**:
1. Work closely with Senior Management to ensure that all relevant contract, legislative and regulatory requirements are fully met, and that delivery is shaped and informed by the needs and lived experience of women, including survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence (DASV).
2. Actively lead and support the EVA project staff to deliver exemplary specialist support confidently and effectively to women with complex needs who are fleeing and seeking safety fro
