About the Role

At National Grid ESO, we are embarking on an ambitious transformation of Great Britain's electricity system, creating a cleaner, greener, and more affordable future for all. As Senior Lead in the Dispatch and Balancing Strategy team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing the electricity markets that support a secure, decarbonised energy system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop robust quantitative and qualitative data-driven analysis of key GB electricity market outcomes
  • Contribute to policy development, including writing papers and developing effective frameworks for assessment
  • Interface with stakeholders to understand the implications of design proposals
About You

We are seeking an individual with a strong understanding of GB electricity market design, including experience in the regulatory or policy arena. You will have the ability to think imaginatively and conceptualise the impact of net zero on the GB power system. Your analytical thinking skills will enable you to develop evidence-led strategies, and you will be proficient in the use of Excel.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary between £60,000 - £70,000pa, dependent on experience and capability. You will also receive a bonus based on company performance, 26 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme.
