About the Role

National Grid ESO is seeking a Senior Lead to join our Dispatch and Balancing Strategy team. As a key member of our team, you will design and develop the electricity markets that support a secure, decarbonised energy system. Your work will underpin our thinking and position on the Review of Electricity Market Arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement market design proposals to support a secure and decarbonised energy system.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the implications of market design proposals.
  • Provide input on policy development and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong understanding of GB electricity market design and policy instruments. You will have a proven ability to use quantitative and qualitative evidence to develop a thoughtful and independent viewpoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to analyse and present complex issues to audiences with varying levels of familiarity in power systems and power markets.
