About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Operations Manager to join our team at Blue Cross. As a key member of our senior retail team, you will play a vital role in supporting the growth and development of our charity shops across the South and South West of England.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide training and mentorship to shop teams, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets. You will work closely with the senior retail team to ensure shops operate smoothly and efficiently, and lead and motivate shop teams to meet their goals.

This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the success of our charity shops, which are critical to raising the funds needed to care for sick, injured, and homeless pets. As a Retail Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the opening of new shops and ensuring successful ongoing operations, as well as ensuring compliance with all cash handling procedures and shop protocols.

We are looking for an experienced people manager with a passion for retail and a commitment to making a difference. You will need to be someone who inspires, empowers, and sees the potential in every individual. If you are a dynamic and flexible leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven experience in people management and team leadership
  • Retail experience with a track record of hitting sales and profit targets
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience in training and mentoring others
  • Full manual driving licence and willingness to travel extensively (including some overnight stays)
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic cash handling
