Job Summary:
The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Trust Doctor to join our team in the Urology department. As a Trust Doctor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide SHO cover on a rotational shift basis throughout Urology, ensuring seamless continuity of care for our patients.
- Supervise FY1s in service delivery, inpatients, and day services, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the highest standards of care.
- Participate in the on-call SHO rota, responding promptly to emergency situations and providing rapid response to A&E to facilitate the 4-hour trolley-wait target.
- Undertake outpatient clinics and operating theatre lists as directed by consultants, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Contribute to the Clinical Governance and Risk Assessment process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient safety and care.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients, including examination, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Maintain accurate and legible records, ensuring compliance with trust policies and procedures.
- Assist in the audit of various aspects of work under the direction of the Audit lead, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
- Recognize own limitations and seek advice from consultants in managing patients, ensuring high-quality care and minimizing risk.
- Perform related duties as required, including additional duties arising from occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances, and duties essential for the continuity of patient care.
- Other duties as directed by the Consultant in Charge, ensuring alignment with trust objectives and priorities.
Requirements:
- Essential IT skills to support the electronic management of patient pathways.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff from other departments, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
