We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in General Surgery to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care to our patients and contributing to the development of our emergency general surgery strategy.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver high-volume, low-complexity day case surgery at Newham University Hospital, focusing on complex benign colorectal and proctology surgery.
- Develop and lead a world-class service in emergency general surgery, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the teaching and assessment of undergraduate and junior doctors, ensuring the next generation of surgeons receives the best possible training.
- Participate in medical audit arrangements, driving quality improvement and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
