We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in General Emergency Surgery to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to patients in emergency situations, while also contributing to the development of our surgical strategy.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide expert surgical care to patients in emergency situations
- Contribute to the development of our surgical strategy and service improvement initiatives
- Lead and manage a team of junior doctors and medical staff
- Participate in medical audit and quality improvement activities
- Contribute to the teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
- Higher Specialist Training in General and Colorectal Surgery
- Experience in training and mentoring junior doctors
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
