Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work as an integral member of our Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy service, providing highly specialist intervention to children and infants with complex communication and swallowing difficulties.

Main Duties

The post holder will work within the Acute Children's Therapies and Play service, delivering highly specialist and dedicated intervention to children and infants (0-16 years) admitted to the Paediatric wards, including the 10-bedded Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU). They will also provide SLT input to outpatient clinics, trache-vent clinics, and complex airway patients.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Speech and Language Therapy, HCPC registration, and evidence of continuing professional development. They will also have post-qualification experience working within paediatric dysphagia, including infant feeding, and knowledge of tracheostomy and speaking valve assessment.
