About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key role in providing expertise and leadership to our team, including in the specialist clinical area of Adolescence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of young people with communication difficulties, utilising knowledge and skills of colleagues to refine assessment and management strategies.
  • Work as part of an integrated team with internal and external colleagues to support parent/carers and children/young people in all issues related to clinical care.
  • Be a source of clinical expertise, providing advice and second opinions within the team, and supervise colleagues to ensure high-quality care.
  • Lead on service improvements, including Quality Improvement projects, and provide team leadership and strategic direction for therapists working in secondary schools and post-16 provision.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Registered Speech and Language Therapist with the RCSLT and HCPC, who has considerable experience of working with young people with communication difficulties. Desirable qualifications include management training and experience of supporting transitions to adult services.
