Position Overview

We are seeking an Information Security Advisor to join our team, with the option to work from either our London or Maidenhead office. This role will primarily support clients across the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Africa, and the Middle East, while also providing assistance to other EMEA regions as needed. The Information Security Advisor will serve as the cyber security subject matter expert (SME), responsible for conducting cyber risk evaluations that encompass information security, physical security, and industrial control systems. The advisor may assist clients in interpreting the outcomes of risk assessments and validating their strategies to mitigate identified cyber risks. Additionally, this role involves collaboration with the cyber team to enhance the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our products and services, while gaining insights into the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and reinforce trust with clients regarding cyber security matters.
  • Engage directly with clients to assess and comprehend their cyber risk landscape.
  • Collaborate with clients to interpret risk assessment findings and validate plans to address specific cyber risk challenges.
  • Provide expert guidance to account managers, engineers, and external clients on cyber risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with the cyber team to develop, implement, and enhance cyber assessment tools, services, and business processes.
  • Support internal training initiatives for client-facing personnel on fundamental cyber security practices, risks, and recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Act as an external representative for cyber security in support of our initiatives and efforts.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and trends to maintain relevant expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in information technology, with at least 5 years dedicated to information/cyber security.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: security risk assessments, development of enterprise security policies, cyber security risk consulting, or incident management.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems and network infrastructures.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer vulnerabilities, hacker methodologies, and various threats.
  • Proficient in widely recognized cybersecurity risk frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, MITRE Att&ck) and their application within enterprise organizations.
  • Experience with enterprise-level information security programs, including governance, risk assessment, policy/standards, technical controls, oversight and assurance, risk treatment, and security education/awareness.
  • Ability to utilize various trusted information sources (articles, webinars, internet) to gain accurate and updated knowledge on cybersecurity and recommend suitable solutions for FM Global.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with exemplary consultative abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional collaboration and decision-making capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and EMEA regions.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is advantageous.
