GSL Education's Newcastle branch is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to collaborate with our partner schools. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about enhancing the educational experiences of students with Special Educational Needs.
Role Overview:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work in close partnership with educators and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with diverse needs. Your primary goal will be to support students academically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring they achieve their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
- Provide personalized support to students in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Contribute to classroom management and the preparation of educational resources.
- Facilitate the development of students' social and communication abilities.
Essential Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is highly advantageous.
- Relevant educational or childcare qualifications are preferred.
- Exhibit patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Possess an updated CV covering the last ten years, excluding any unexplained gaps, and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
