Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team in a 'good' school in Newcastle. This is a full-time position that will commence in September 2024.
About the Role:The successful candidate will work with pupils who have learning difficulties, behavioural problems, or physical or sensory disabilities. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for assessing the individual learning needs of pupils, positively managing challenging behaviour, and liaising with parents, carers, and other professionals who work with the children.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and support pupils with learning difficulties, behavioural problems, or physical or sensory disabilities
- Work with teachers to develop bespoke and individualized education plans to engage pupils
- Supervise activities and provide support to pupils in small groups and one-to-one
- Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and support
- Manage challenging behaviour and provide positive reinforcement
