Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team at a 'good' school in Newcastle. The successful candidate will work with pupils who have learning difficulties, behavioural problems or physical or sensory disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the individual learning needs of pupils and develop strategies to support their learning.
  • Positively manage challenging behaviour and create a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Liaise with parents, carers and other professionals who work with the children to ensure a cohesive approach to their education.
  • Supervise activities and work with teachers to find bespoke and individualised child-centred education to help engage the children.
  • Work with children in small groups and on a one-to-one basis to provide additional support and guidance.
