About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planning and Reporting Lead to join our team at East Cheshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in financial planning and reporting, contracting and commissioning, and providing financial expertise to service line managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the financial planning and reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is provided to support the delivery of the Trust's financial duties.
  • Supervise the workload of the income team to ensure trust deadlines are met.
  • Provide financial expertise and advice to service line managers, including implications around National tariff and best practice tariffs.
  • Maintain, monitor, and report income as required, both internally and externally, and present information to non-finance colleagues in an accessible form.
  • Provide cover for the Planning and Income accountant to ensure continuous service for both external and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
  • AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) member or equivalent experience or Honours Degree level.
  • Understanding of the contracting regime, and commissioner contract payment process.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications, NHS information systems, data collection, research, and analysis.
  • Understanding of the general ledger and its feeder systems and coding structures.
  • Excel to intermediate level.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and legislation relating to budgetary control and financial management.
