Job Summary

This position is open to staff working at East Cheshire NHS Trust in the ECT Family, including current employees, bank staff, ISS staff, and volunteers. The post-holder will take a lead role in financial planning and reporting of the Trust's financial income position, as well as having a key role in contracting and commissioning.

Main Duties

The post-holder will provide financial expertise, advice, and input for service line managers, advising on implications around National tariff and best practice tariffs. They will maintain, monitor, and report income as required, both internally and externally, and present information to non-finance colleagues in an accessible form.

The post-holder will also provide cover for the Planning and Income accountant to ensure continuous service for both external and internal stakeholders.

Requirements
  • AAT member or equivalent experience or Honours Degree level
  • Understanding of the contracting regime and commissioner contract payment process
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications, NHS information systems, data collection, research, and analysis
  • Understanding of the general ledger and its feeder systems and coding structures
  • Excel to intermediate level
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and legislation relating to budgetary control and financial management
Skills
  • Developed interpersonal, communication (written and oral), persuasive, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage staff effectively, producing required outputs
  • Highly developed organizational skills, with the ability to plan and organize a broad range of complex activities and progressing multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, prioritizing and managing own workload
  • Ability to interpret and analyze a complex range of data, facts, or situations, using judgment to solve problems or present options/recommendations
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports and documents, paying attention to detail and using a high standard of English
