Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant primary school in Wimbledon. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality education to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Class Teachers: Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities in accordance with the national curriculum.
  • Classroom Management: Take responsibility for whole class teaching when needed, ensuring smooth delivery of lessons in the teacher's absence.
  • Intervention Support: Lead small group sessions or 1:1 interventions to support children with their learning and development.
  • Collaboration: Work with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide tailored support for children, including those with SEND.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and provide feedback to teachers.
Requirements
  • HLTA Qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience working in a primary school setting, ideally across multiple year groups.
  • A solid understanding of the primary national curriculum.
  • Experience in leading small groups and/or whole class sessions.
  • Ability to differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
