Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable primary school in Woolwich. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of supporting teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, as well as providing high-quality teaching and learning opportunities to pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in accordance with the curriculum under the direction of teachers.
  • Lead small group interventions to raise attainment across core subjects.
  • Provide support to teachers in the planning and preparation of lessons.
  • Cover classes during teacher absences and provide high-quality teaching and learning opportunities.
  • Assist with classroom management, maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Assist with assessment and reporting of pupil progress.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent, recognised in the UK.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and primary education standards.
  • Experience working with children with SEN and adapting teaching approaches accordingly.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
