Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional researcher to join our team at MPOWIR Mentoring Physical Oceanography Women to Increase Retention. As a Research Associate, you will be working closely with our experts to understand complex phenomena in stratified shear flows.

Your primary responsibility will be to conduct numerical simulations and analyse results using advanced mathematical techniques, including generalised stability theory, dynamical systems theory, and machine learning.

  • Simulate and analyse complex fluid dynamics phenomena
  • Develop and execute research plans
  • Manage research administration and coordination
  • Communicate technical ideas effectively
  • Foster collaborations and partnerships
  • Supervise student projects and mentor junior researchers
  • Deliver lectures and workshops on research topics

To succeed in this role, you will need a PhD in mathematics, engineering or a related field, along with expertise in numerical simulations and machine learning.

We offer a highly competitive salary of £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, based on experience.
