Job Title: Hydraulic Modelling Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant or Senior consultant with 2-5 years' experience in hydraulic modelling. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree (e.g., Geography, Earth/Environmental Sciences, Engineering) and membership or working towards chartership (e.g., CIWEM).

The successful candidate will be based in Sheffield or Cambridge and work alongside experienced professionals to support project managers delivering hydraulic modelling services for residential development projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare technical reports, including Flood Risk Assessments, ES Chapters, Modelling reports, and Channel Survey Specification.
  • Support the preparation of fee proposals.
  • Undertake Hydrological Assessments using industry-standard methodology and software (e.g., FEH Statistical Analysis, ReFH2, WINFAP).
  • Build and run hydraulic models using industry-standard software (e.g., HECRAS, TUFLOW, ESTRY, Flood Modeller).
  • Consult with water regulators, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise and provide advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree (e.g., Geography, Earth/Environmental Sciences, Engineering).
  • Membership or working towards chartership (e.g., CIWEM).
  • 2-5 years' experience in hydraulic modelling.
  • Experience with model stabilisation and calibration.
