High Voltage Engineer Job Opportunity

Recruit4Staff is proud to represent their client, a renowned construction and civil engineering company, in their search for a skilled High Voltage Engineer to work on a newly awarded contract in the Penrhyndeudraeth area.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced High Voltage Engineer to manage the design of the HV system and act as project manager for the cable installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the HV designer and subcontractor design activities and deliverables, ensuring they are completed in line with the agreed programme and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the design of the HV system and act as project manager for the cable installations.
  • Manage the HV designer and subcontractor design activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and project requirements.
  • Be the technical lead for the HV works on the project.
  • Manage the MEP designer and subcontractor design activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and project requirements.
  • Liaise with the Designer or representative as required under the contract.
  • Work with the Project Team to produce, maintain, and manage the project-integrated management plan and all associated documentation.
Requirements
  • Previous National Grid-related project experience preferably on 400kV and 132 kV circuits - ESSENTIAL.
  • 10+ years experience with high voltage projects.
  • Substantial civils/construction and design experience - ESSENTIAL.
  • Hold a current UK Driving Licence.
  • Exceptional know-how in implementing and promoting Digital Engineering practices in Design as well as construction.
  • Electrical Engineering apprenticeship, ONC diploma or degree, extensive relevant experience - ESSENTIAL.
What Our Client Is Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high voltage projects, with previous experience working on National Grid-related projects. They will also have substantial civils/construction and design experience, as well as exceptional know-how in implementing and promoting Digital Engineering practices.
