Accounts Assistant Job Details

Ideal Recruit Ltd is seeking a skilled Accounts Assistant to support our client in Skelmersdale. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for managing transactional activities within the Purchase and Sales Ledger and reporting to the Accounts Payable supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and reconciling the purchase ledger
  • Assisting and supporting with any supplier queries
  • Creating new supplier records and details on Sage
  • Purchase invoice processing and sales invoice processing
  • Liaising with staff at all levels across the business to achieve monthly targets
  • Ensuring month-end report deadlines are met in a timely manner
  • Providing additional support and ad-hoc duties as required

Essential Skills:

  • Intermediate IT skills in Microsoft Office packages, with a focus on Excel
  • Excellent administration and organisational skills
  • Good numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Well-organised and efficient with the ability to work to tight deadlines

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Sage 500
  • AAT level 2/3/4 (or working towards)

This is a temporary to permanent position. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out tasks as required by the company.
