Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Skelmersdale

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-regarded SEND school in Liverpool. The successful candidate will work closely with students who present significant behavioural challenges, providing tailored support to foster a positive, nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support to students with SEMH needs
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote student well-being
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support
  • De-escalate physically challenging situations and promote a calm, safe environment
  • Support students in achieving their full potential and overcoming personal challenges

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
  • Positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children's development
  • Enhanced DBS check required
