Cost Management Associate

Join Turner & Townsend Group as a Cost Management Associate and be part of a dynamic team that delivers exceptional cost management services to clients in the Commercial Developer sector.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in feasibility studies and write procurement reports
- Estimate and cost plan, including producing and presenting the final cost plan
- Tender and procure, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report, and compiling the contractual documents
- Deal with post-contract cost variances and change control processes, referring major changes to the line manager
- Take personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client
- Contribute to value engineering
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages
- Lead a cost management team, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities
- Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report such opportunities to the line manager
- Assist in the production of bid documentation
- Identify ways to improve cost management procedures, templates, and products, referring ideas to the line manager
- Knowledge management - ensure key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database
- Financial management - utilize FMS to keep track of ongoing margin levels
- Process improvement - identify ways to improve internal systems and processes, referring ideas to the line manager
Depending on the context, a Cost Management Associate will report to a Senior Cost Manager, Area Manager, or Associate Director.
A Cost Management Associate will be assessed by the extent to which commissions are managed to the right quality standards, completed efficiently and on time, and service delivery on commissions is in line with the condition.
Requirements- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
- UK Cost Management experience within the Real Estate/Property sector
- Experience working on larger projects of £10m value or over (or equivalent)
- Experience working on new build and fit-out projects
- Excellent communication skills and client-facing abilities
