Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payments Manager to join our team at Insignis Cash. As a key member of our Payments Team, you will be responsible for managing payments operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing within Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and minimizing errors. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing risk, ensuring compliance with best practices and audit requirements, and driving operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payment Operations Management: Oversee Payment FTE, ensuring accurate and timely task completion within SLA while minimizing errors.
  • Risk Assessment and Compliance: Evaluate risk and ensure Payments operations adhere to best practices and audit requirements.
  • Project Involvement: Participate in payment projects, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Team Mentoring and Development: Mentor team members, encourage knowledge sharing, and cross-training.
  • Payment Regulations and Operational Risk: Possess a strong understanding of payment regulations and operational risk.
  • Operational Improvements: Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Procedure Updates and Process Implementation: Update procedures and implement new processes for new products.
  • Reconciliation Review: Review reconciliations daily to ensure platform and client account balances align.
  • Error Identification and Rectification: Identify and rectify issues, with further root cause analysis to provide feedback on training, process changes, or technical development to prevent future errors.
  • Accuracy Checking: Verify team members' payment entries, interest, and platform-generated entries for accuracy before processing.
  • Workload Management: Monitor and allocate teams' workload, adapting to rising requirements.
  • Interest and Transaction Compilation: Compile and allocate interest, fees, and other transactions to the Insignis platform.
  • Weekly Reporting: Provide weekly management information, including errors, issues, and SLA breaches.
  • Process and Technology Recommendations: Help identify process and technology changes to benefit processes, team, and bank relationships.
  • Team Mentoring and Guidance: Mentor and guide team members in internal procedures and personal development.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in payments and managing a team.
  • Expertise in processing payments, Faster Payments, CHAPS, and Currency Payments.
  • Knowledge of interest rates, calculations, and process changes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Nice to Have
  • Good knowledge of the clearing and settlement cycles for UK domestic payment schemes.
  • Understanding of PSR/PSD2 rules.
  • Knowledge of changes required for Financial Services firms to comply with APP rules and CoP.
