We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payments Manager to join our Payments Team in Cambridge. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments to partner banks and end clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payments and team management, with experience in processing payments, Faster Payments, Chaps, and Currency Payments. They will also have a good understanding of interest rates, calculations, and process changes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments to partner banks and end clients.
  • Accurately processing internal transactions between virtual and transactional accounts.
  • Managing the team's day-to-day work, ensuring any risks are escalated to the Head of Cash and Head of Payments.
  • Responsible for minimizing the team's errors and adhering to SLAs.
  • Mentoring the team and encouraging a culture of knowledge sharing and cross-training.
  • Driving operational improvements and updating procedures for new products.
  • Reviewing reconciliations daily to align platform and client account balances.
  • Identifying and rectifying issues, with further root cause analysis to provide feedback on training, process changes, or technical development.
  • Checking team members' payment entries, interest, and platform-generated entries for accuracy prior to processing.
  • Monitoring and allocating the team's workload, adapting to changing requirements.
  • Compilation and allocation of interest, fees, and other transactions to the Insignis platform.
  • Reporting to the line manager weekly on MI, errors, and issues, SLA breaches.
  • Helping to identify process and technology changes to benefit the team, processes, and bank relationships.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in payments and team management.
  • Strong knowledge of payments, Faster Payments, Chaps, and Currency Payments.
  • Good understanding of interest rates, calculations, and process changes.
  • Understanding of MS Excel.

Nice to Have:

  • Good knowledge of the clearing and settlement cycles for UK domestic payment schemes.
  • Understanding of PSR/PSD2 rules.
  • Knowledge of changes required for Financial Services firms to comply with APP rules and CoP.

  • Hybrid working pattern in Cambridge office, 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.
