About the Role

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician Consultant to join our Elderly Medicine department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient services to the elderly population, coordinated and person-centred.
  • Lead and motivate the multidisciplinary team within your ward area to deliver effective patient-focused interventions and timely discharge planning.
  • Create and maintain excellent working relationships with your team, management team, and external agencies such as community providers and CCGs.
  • Engage fully in the development of services to meet the anticipated future challenges of the ageing population.
  • Lead on and drive forward innovations within the service area.
  • Support consultant colleagues in the department in the delivery of their services where necessary.
Requirements
  • Training and experience equivalent to that required for UK CCT (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR being issued) in geriatric medicine.
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register in geriatric medicine or eligibility for specialist registration in geriatric Medicine within 6 months from the time of the interview.
  • MRCP.
  • Valid ALS or equivalent.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of Geriatric Medicine and UK Acute Medicine and Ambulatory Care in UK.
