Job Summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will provide high-quality care to patients with respiratory conditions, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the post include:

  • Providing comprehensive respiratory and general medicine services to patients
  • Participating in the management and development of the specialty, including the introduction of new services
  • Contributing to the General Medicine educational programme, including weekly departmental meetings and teaching
  • Joining clinical supervision of STs in Respiratory Medicine
  • Participating in Multidisciplinary Team Meetings, both specialty and ward based
  • Participating in medical audit and review of performance for the Service against the National Targets for Lung Cancer
  • Participating in the Trust consultant appraisal process
  • Achieving the requirements for Continuing Professional Development as laid down by the Royal College of Physicians

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping. We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop's Stortford and Epping.
