Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Healthcare Assistant. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to our clinical team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and adhere to specific practice guidelines and protocols.
  • Support the clinical team in the provision and delivery of quality health and care services.
  • Undertake, record, and follow guidelines for tasks for which you have received appropriate training.
  • Perform phlebotomy skills, including near-patient testing for INR, blood glucose, and cholesterol.
  • Process patient samples for dispatch to hospital laboratories, including body fluids such as urine, faeces, and sputum.
  • Measure and record patient blood pressure, reporting any measurements outside of the norm to the appropriate clinician.
  • Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions.
  • Clean and maintain clinical treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.
  • Identify and report health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately.
  • Participate in infection control training and adhere to national standards for healthcare cleanliness.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions for improvement.
Requirements
  • Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working within a nursing or clinical team.
  • Phlebotomy skills, including near-patient testing for INR, blood glucose, and cholesterol.
