Physiotherapist Specialist for Adults with Learning Disabilities

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist physiotherapy team in a two-year fixed-term contract. The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
The team works alongside Occupational Therapists, Learning Disability Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Behaviour Therapists, Psychologists, and Psychiatrists providing assessments and interventions for adults with a learning disability living in their own homes covering Southend, Castlepoint, and Rochford, Basildon, Brentwood, Wickford, and Thurrock.
As this is a community post, the post holder will require a full UK driving license and have access to their own car for home visits.
As this is a post fixed-term contract, we are unable to provide sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities- To assess patients in a timely manner and provide a high standard of physiotherapy to patients accessing the service.
- To manage own clinical caseload.
- To provide advice to other health professionals, social services, and voluntary agencies.
- To supervise and teach Physiotherapy Technical Instructors, Assistant Practitioners, and students as appropriate.
- To participate in a full Learning Disability Service within the organisation.
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy.
- Health Care Professions Council State Registration.
- Current up-to-date CPD portfolio.
- Appropriate post-registration experience and training.
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Knowledge
- Requires a high level of expertise working with adults with a learning disability.
Personal Qualities
- Ability to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and within the Physiotherapy Team.
- A demonstrable interest in working in LD as a specialist physiotherapist.
- Ability to take the lead with projects and tasks.
Additional Qualities
- Fitness Analysis as appropriate.
- Current driving license. Ability to travel across sites and across Trust boundaries to attend meetings, etc.
