About the Role

Livewell Southwest is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional to join our team. As an AMHP, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs and contributing to the overall work of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct statutory assessments on behalf of the local authority under the Mental Health Act.
  • Work within the AMHP team to support individuals with complex mental health difficulties.
  • Contribute to the overall organisational remit of supporting people with complex mental health difficulties.
  • Provide mental health professional input to Plymouth's Joint Response Unit (JRU) vehicle, working alongside police colleagues to provide acute assessment and care to individuals experiencing mental health crisis.
  • Work collaboratively with other mental health and social care services to provide advice, guidance, and support as required.
Requirements
  • Current professional registration with a relevant professional body (occupational therapist, psychologist, nurse, or social worker).
  • Successful completion of AMHP training and post-approval training record.
  • Experience of coordinating and carrying out Mental Health Act Assessments in a range of settings.
  • Experience of working in a mental health service and/or setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other colleagues and team members towards the goals of the team.
